Holy Week Schedule
During Holy Week, the Church follows our Lord Jesus Christ from His entry into Jerusalem, through His suffering and death, and into the joy of His resurrection. In these sacred services, Christ serves us through His Word and Sacraments, delivering the forgiveness of sins and strengthening us in faith. We invite you to join us as we receive these gifts and offer thanks and worship to God.
All times listed below are Central Daylight Time.
Palm Sunday
March 29 at 9:30 AM
Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week as we remember our Lord’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem. Jesus enters as the humble King, riding on a donkey, acclaimed by the crowds and yet journeying toward the cross. In this service, we confess that the same Christ who is praised as King is the One who willingly suffers and dies for our salvation.
Maundy Thursday
April 2 at 7:00 PM
On Maundy Thursday, also known as Holy Thursday, we gather to hear again the account of our Lord’s final night before His crucifixion. Most especially, we rejoice in the institution of the Holy Supper, in which Christ gives us His true body and blood, in, with, and under bread and wine, for the forgiveness of sins. The service concludes in solemn reverence as we remember our Lord’s betrayal and His willing submission to the Father’s will.
Good Friday
April 3 at 7:00 PM
Good Friday centers us at the cross of Christ. Through Scripture readings, hymnody, and prayer, we behold our Savior’s suffering and death for the sins of the whole world. In this service we proclaim—not sentimentally, but faithfully—that Christ’s death is our life, and that by His wounds we are healed.
The Easter Vigil
April 4 at 7:30 PM
The Easter Vigil is the Church’s ancient service of watching and waiting for the resurrection of our Lord. Beginning in darkness and moving into light, the Vigil traces God’s saving work through history, culminating in the proclamation that Christ is risen from the dead. This service marks the transition from the sorrow of the Passion to the joy of Easter, as the victory of Christ over sin, death, and the devil is announced once again.
Easter Sunday
April 5:
Breakfast at 8:30 AM followed by a children’s egg hunt
Divine Service at 10:00 AM
On Easter Sunday, the Church rejoices in the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. The tomb is empty, death is conquered, and Christ lives forever as our victorious Savior. In this chief feast of the Church Year, we receive the proclamation of the resurrection and the gifts Christ won for us by His death and rising again: forgiveness of sins, life, and salvation.
Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia!
